David Hammond

David Hammond, Vice President David, bass, traces his love of music back to singing soprano in a men and boys choir early in life. As an adult, having sung in the Back Bay Chorale for ten years and Polymnia for roughly twenty, his life has been immeasurably enriched by great choral literature and superb conductors. He retired in 2019 after having worked in financial services for almost forty years. David is married to Barbara, has two children and two grandchildren.

Therese Moran, Treasurer Terry, alto, joined Polymnia in 1985 and joined the Board in 1996 as the ticket coordinator.   She became the Treasurer in 1998.  She currently works in state government.  Since college, Terry has enjoyed choral singing and loves that through Polymnia she has the opportunity to sing with such a welcoming community

Pam Ross, Librarian Pam, soprano, joined Polymnia in September, 1994.  She became a member of the Board in 1995 when she was elected Co-President of Polymnia and remained in the position until 1997.  Pam then moved into the position of Assistant Music Librarian and then Music Librarian 10 years later.  She loves singing with the Polymnia family and she looks forward to singing with them for a long time to come.  She has been the Church Administrator at the First Baptist Church in Melrose for the last two years.

Br. Richard Cook, Concert Tickets Brother Richard, tenor, is a retired school teacher and administrator in schools and missions conducted by the Xaverian Brothers. His last United States job was as Headmaster of Malden Catholic High School. After he left this job he served in Kenya for six years. Alycia Kennedy, Director

Elli St. George, Communications

Rachel Smith, Member at Large Rachel, soprano, has been a member of Polymnia Choral Society since 2015 and was very excited to join the board in June of 2016. She has sung in choirs since high school, but believes her skillset improved ten-fold once she joined Polymnia. She credits this improvement to the expertise of the conductor, assistant conductor, and accompanist. Currently, Rachel works as an Executive Director of a non-profit. Singing has always been more of a passion and a priority than a hobby, which is why she was quick to join this wonderful group of singers once she moved to the North Shore.

Maggie Sheets, Grant Writing Maggie has been a member of Polymnia since 2015 and has served as a grant writer on Polymnia’s Board of Directors since 2019. Prior to joining Polymnia, Maggie also sings with the Melrose Highlands Congregational church’s choir. Aside from singing, Maggie is active in the Melrose community as she serves on the Melrose Commission on Disability. She works as a Research Coordinator for the Disability Policy Consortium.
